It is our great pleasure to announce the finalists of the Global Project Manager of the Year competition. As the first year of the updated Individual Awards, the Judges have set the standard for future years and have selected only to two finalists.
The first finalist is Fiona Park from Australia who provided exceptional leadership of a transformational program, by making decisions, coaching and helping both employees and management in increasing their PM skills. Based on Fiona’s submission and supportive evidence, the Judges concluded that Fiona was a key player in creating an open and transparent environment for the projects in her organisation.
The second finalist is Min Yao from China, who managed a highly complex project: 30.000 people, 800 organisations involved, new technology and vast amounts of materials. The project manager was innovative and achieved excellent results, especially in the development of new quality processes in a technologically innovative environment. Additionally, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and empowerment skills.
Which of our finalists will achieve gold when the announcement is made during the IPMA Global Awards Gala which is to be held during the 31st IPMA World Congress in Merida, Mexico on October 1.
Project Manager of the Year is a category of IPMA Global Individual Awards granted annually to candidates who demonstrate a high level of competence and innovation in project management. The assessment is based on the competencies described on the Individual Competence Baseline V4.0 (ICB4).
