The selection process for the IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards 2026 has now been completed, and we are pleased to announce the finalists across all project categories.
Each year, the IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding projects that demonstrate excellence in project management, strong leadership, effective delivery, and the ability to create lasting value for organizations, communities, and society. The awards recognize project teams whose achievements, innovative approaches, and commitment to excellence contribute to advancing the profession and creating a positive impact around the world.
The Small-/Medium-sized Projects and Large- and Mega-sized Projects categories of the IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards showcase the remarkable diversity of this year’s finalists and the many different forms project excellence can take – from collecting used electronic devices in more developed countries and redistributing them to communities in less-developed regions, revitalizing rivers and waterways, and developing offshore wind farms, to strengthening healthcare IT systems, modernizing agricultural irrigation, transforming digital networks, supporting climate change adaptation, and creating new cultural spaces such as museums. Together, these projects reflect the breadth of project excellence, spanning environmental, technological, social, economic and cultural impact across different regions and communities.
The IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards recognize projects across two categories based on project budget, ensuring that projects of different scales are evaluated within an appropriate context. Small-/Medium-sized Projects have a budget of less than €50 million, while Large- and Mega-sized Projects have budgets of €50 million or more.
This year’s finalists represent 18 projects from 15 countries, reflecting the global reach and diversity of the IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards. Their achievements stand out in a highly competitive year, with a strong field of projects submitted across all two project size categories.
