Celebrating the World’s Most Ambitious Projects: Meet the Large and Mega-sized Project Finalists

The world’s most ambitious projects do more than deliver infrastructure, technology, or services, they transform industries, strengthen economies, improve communities, and shape the future. Large and Mega-sized Projects represent the highest level of project management excellence, combining visionary leadership with the ability to successfully navigate extraordinary complexity, long delivery horizons, and investments exceeding EUR 200 million.

The IPMA Project Excellence Awards recognize those projects that not only achieve outstanding results, but also demonstrate excellence in leadership, governance, stakeholder engagement, sustainability, innovation, and the creation of lasting value. Becoming a finalist is a testament to the dedication, expertise, and collaboration of everyone involved throughout the project lifecycle.

Every finalist has successfully progressed through one of the most comprehensive and demanding assessment processes in the profession. Projects are evaluated against the internationally recognized IPMA Project Excellence Baseline (PEB) through a detailed Application Report, an independent assessment by an international team of experts, and a rigorous three-day Site Visit, where evidence is validated through interviews with clients, project teams, partners, and other key stakeholders. The process concludes with the final decision of the IPMA Awards Judges, ensuring an impartial and globally respected evaluation.

• Jiangxi Province Ganfu Coccyx Renovate Co., LTD (project location – China), with a project Comprehensive Regulation Project of the Lower Reaches of Ganjiang River/Navigation Phase
• Vestas (project location – Netherlands), with a project Ecowende – Hollandse Kust West Offshore Wind Farm/Engineering, wind turbine supply & construction phase
• Tahakom (project location – Saudi Arabia), with a project Law Enforcement Deployment 2025 (LED25)
