After an 8 month long process involving young project managers from across the globe completing and submitting their applications and then a comprehensive judging process the results are in and the finalists for the 2021 International Project Management Association (IPMA) Young Project Manager of the Year awards have been identified. The award recognises innovation and excellence in project management by the next generation of skilled project managers (those under 35 years of age) who will continue the delivery of critical projects across the globe.
The Young Project Manager of the Year Award Project Manager, Andreia Henriques from Portugal emphasised that: “The diverse range of projects that the finalists have managed is consistent with their very different backgrounds.” Andreia also highlighted that “For the first time in the competition’s nine year history we have two finalists from Iran”. Alireza Asianhosseini was responsible for managing strategically vital resource projects that produce up to 12% of the nation’s gas output and were continually challenged by its harsh but environmentally sensitive location. Fereshte Mirhosseini demonstrated the achievement of innovative solutions and a strong desire for continuous improvement in her projects delivered across a wide variety of industries. The third finalist is Massimo Galletta a young project manager and project engineer from Italy who demonstrated excellence in his management of diverse and challenging engineering, procurement, construction and installation projects in Italy, Germany, UK and Saudi Arabia. He was also responsible for refurbishing the PM training paths within his company.
