Project Excellence Assessment training successfully conducted in Beijing

After a six-year hiatus, the highly anticipated Project Excellence Assessment Training returned to China, drawing a group of 12 enthusiastic participants to Beijing from January 26-28, 2024. The event focused on the IPMA Project Excellence Assessment, offering a comprehensive program for those eager to apply the IPMA Project Excellence Model in their respective projects, programs, or organizations.

The three-day training program featured engaging hands-on sessions, discussions, and presentations, centered around critical aspects:

• An overview of IPMA and the procedures of the IPMA Global Awards
• Understanding the rationale and objectives underlying the IPMA Project Excellence Baseline
• Examination of the criteria, structure, and scoring system of the Project Excellence Model
• Understanding the roles and responsibilities of assessors, judges, and award applicants
• A detailed analysis of the project assessment process, covering individual assessments, consensus building, site evaluations, and the creation of Feedback Reports for applicant organizations.

After completing this training, participants will gain:

• A deep understanding of the Project Excellence model, covering its assessment criteria, feedback mechanisms, and practical application in organizational environments.
• The ability to effectively implement these skills to foster project excellence in their own organizations.
• Eligibility to partake in the IPMA Global Project Excellence Awards, either as a contender or an assessor.

The training was expertly conducted by seasoned Assessors: Gou Ye (Project Excellence Awards trainer) and Michael Boxheimer (Project Excellence Awards Team Lead Assessor and Project Excellence trainer).

Moreover, for participants to join the Assessor Pool, they must not only pass the end-of-training test but also earn a favourable recommendation from the trainers based on their active participation and performance throughout the training.

The next edition of the Project Excellence Assessment training will be held March 25-27th, 2024, in Cape Town, South Africa.
