In the year when IPMA, the oldest professional association for project management, celebrates its 60th anniversary, the IPMA Awards team will introduce several innovations. The first of these is the new award category – the IPMA Global Project Management Academic Excellence Recognition, which includes four subcategories.
The IPMA Global Research Awards aims to recognize and promote global project management academic excellence in advancing the field of project management. Through this annual recognition, IPMA honours recent outstanding academic achievements and impactful contributions that shape and influence the professional project management discipline.

The application should be submitted with mandatory support of the respective Member Association (MA), following the criteria from application form and schedule. The Application Submission should be compiled using the Awards platform. After registering, choose the chapter IPMA Global Awards, IPMA Global Project Management Academic Excellence Recognition, and then the appropriate subcategory.

2. Evaluation
The awards office will perform a technical check, and only eligible applications will be distributed to the judges who meet the eligibility criteria for IPMA Distinguished Professors.
3. Recognition
The list of distinguished professors and lecturers will be announced, and a certificate and badge will be issued at the 13th IPMA Research Conference, which will be held in Dubai, 9-11 April 2025. Additionally, the list will be published and regularly updated on the IPMA website.
4. Evaluation criteria
