On 30 October IPMA recognized excellent project management achievements realized by organizations, project management teams, Project Managers and researchers.
Due to the challenges posed by the pandemic that the world is currently facing, celebrating these successes took place in a different setting than usual. Instead of looking at anxious faces of finalists all dressed up in gala costumes and sitting at wonderful dinner tables, we were all looking at computer screens.
The ceremony was hosted by Anna Butrym, professional presenter and Ewa Zawadzka- Judge of the IPMA Individual Awards. It was open by Martin Sedlmayer IPMA Vice President, responsible for global products and services, including the IPMA Global Awards and Pau Lian Staal-Ong, IPMA Global Awards Coordinator. Both of them expressed their hopes that the next gala would be held with the participation of the audience and thanked the numerous volunteers involved in the evaluation of the application and, of course, the Awards applicants.
During the Ceremony, the awards were presented in 12 subcategories from the Research, Individual and Project Excellence Awards. The official results with detailed information about nominees will be published in the coming days.
The Virtual Ceremony concluded the IPMA Global Best Practice week, which gathered over 80 experts from over 70 countries. The final closing word was made by Joop Schefferlie, IPMA Vide President for certification and the next president – elect of IPMA with the mandate starting as of January 1, 2021, who announced next IPMA events: Global PM Days in November, 9th IPMA Research Conference in Jianan in June and 2nd edition of the IPMA Best Practice Week in June 2021.
