Bronze Winner

Project Name: Westpac Core Network Transformation Stream 3a project
Company: Westpac Group
Country: Australia
Category: IT / Telecommunications

Project description: The Westpac Core Network Transformation (CNT) Stream 3a was a $32M (AUD) ICT project which migrated network workflows off aging legacy network infrastructure to the new strategic One network environment. The legacy network environment was complex with a range of end of support and vulnerability issues representing ongoing risks to bank operations.
The project simplified the entire Westpac network environment by shutting down 5 network environments, decommissioned 769 devices, avoided $100M in replacement costs and achieved a $9.1M reduction in maintenance costs per annum. There were 9 significant network issues resolved thus preventing any impact to the banks fiduciary standing.

Project Name: Location-Based Services (LBS)

Company: Solutions by STC

Project description: Nowadays, government authorities are responsible for taking all possible measures to warn citizens of potential hazards and provide guidance on what to do. STC introduced the Location-Based Services (LBS) program to enhance existing location-based services and expand coverage through new hardware and customized software installation. The program’s success required the integration of all network elements, and its accuracy depended on components outside the system boundaries. LBS was one of the most complex programs undertaken by Solutions by STC, demonstrating its commitment to delivering superior performance in project management practices and providing citizens with critical information in hazardous situations.
