From Vision to Impact – the finalist of the IPMA Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award has been announced!

The year 2025 marks a jubilee year, the year when IPMA celebrates 60-annyversary, but this is also a year commemorating another significant milestone— the establishment of the IPMA Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Awards is one of them.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are not only moral imperatives but strategic necessities. They empower organizations to innovate, make better decisions, attract and retain top talent, and drive stronger financial performance. Embedding inclusive practices ensures that diverse voices are heard, fairness is upheld, and everyone has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully.

At IPMA, we believe that real progress begins with people who value diversity, act with empathy, and foster inclusive communities. We are therefore especially proud to announce the first-ever finalist of the IPMA Global DEI Awards — a governmental entity whose dedication to inclusivity and equity stands as an inspiring example to others.

The City of Cape Town, with its submission Bridging the Divide: An Immersive Approach to Project Portfolio Management at the City of Cape Town has been named a finalist for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award. This is a testament to their outstanding commitment and visionary work in building a more inclusive future.

This recognition is not only a significant achievement but also a call to action. We hope that this inspiring example encourages both governmental and private organizations, not only in South Africa but across the globe, to further embrace DEI as a core value in their operations.

This honor reflects their inspiring commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable environment for all. 

The final rankings will be announced during the IPMA Global Awards Gala Ceremony on 19 September 2025 in Berlin, Germany.
