IPMA is excited to share that the 23rd IPMA Award Gala took place on September 19th, 2025, as the grand finale of the 34th IPMA World Congress at the stunning Axica Congress Center in Berlin.
With over 300 guests in attendance, the evening celebrated excellence as 35 winners of the IPMA Global Awards were announced. The ceremony was uniquely hosted by Ella – IPMA’s first AI Master of Ceremony.
Alongside our well-known award categories, this year marked a milestone: the introduction of new members to the IPMA Global Awards Family.
Meet the winners of the IPMA Project Excellence Awards 2025
Large and Mega-sized Projects
- Gold: Alstom (company headquarters – France), with a project named Wanda–Zhonghe–Shulin line Phase I and Phase II, and a project location in Taiwan
- Silver: CNOOC Ningbo Daxie Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (company headquarters – China), with a project named Daxie Petrochemical Refining-Petrochemical Integration Project, and the project location is in China

Project Management Office Award
A Project Management Office (PMO) plays a vital role in ensuring that an organization’s projects are delivered effectively, consistently, and in alignment with strategic goals. It acts as a central point for project governance, providing structure, standardized processes, and best practices that help teams work more efficiently.
Beyond operational efficiency, the PMO ensures that projects contribute directly to the organization’s long-term and strategic objectives.

In addition, the Gala honoured the visionaries and changemakers who have made an Outstanding Contribution to IPMA.
The awards were presented to Allan Krüger-Jensen (Denmark), Cetin Elmas (Turkey), Jesus Martinz Amella (Spain), Joop Schefferlie (The Netherlands), Lixiong Ou (China), Mladen Radujković (Croatia), Reinhard Wagner (Germany), and Taina Rämö-Korpinen (Finland).
We also paid tribute to two late contributors – Mr. Przemislav Domanski (Poland) and Prof. Dr. Petar Jovanović (Serbia) – whose legacy continues to inspire the global project management community.
