IPMA is pleased to announce the finalists of the Global Agile Leader of the Year competition. The Judges have selected three finalists.
The first finalist is Karin Appelgren from Sweden who led a project of significant complexity to update the New Knowledge Testing System for Driver’s test. The judges noted that Karin was able to achieve project success through her ability to effectively lead a geographically dispersed team and engage diverse stakeholders including citizens, politicians, senior government executives and the media. They further noted that the use of self-reflection based on agile working methods (scrum) and a very high energy level within the project team.
The second finalist is Tanja Haringa from The Netherlands where she was engaged to undertake a transformational project for International Card Services (ICS), a subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank, and the market leader in issuing credit cards in the Netherlands and Germany. The objective of the project was to introduce the use of the Agile methodology to implement the Payment Service Directive 2 (PSD2) element of EBA and DNB compliance requirements. Based on Tanja’s innovative application of the Agile methodology the Judges concluded that she had effectively used Agile to deliver a complex EPIC with the effective engagement of a diverse stakeholder network against tight timelines.
The third finalist is Younos Hizebry from Morocco who led an innovative project to apply the Agile methodology to the development and management of SAGLOBAL Africa’s project portfolio. The judges noted the innovative application of Agile to establish a business start-up, including a company and governance structure that is fully compliant with Moroccan government legislation.
Which of our finalists will win the gold will be announced at the virtual IPMA Global Awards Ceremony on 31 October 2020.
Agile Leader of the Year is a category of IPMA Global Individual Awards granted annually to candidates who demonstrate a high level of competence and innovation in Agile project management. The assessment is based on the competencies described on the IPMA reference Guide ICB4 in an Agile World.
